How do I reset my lamp timer?
Posted by Robert Gaul at
To ensure proper functionality of your projector, and to complete the lamp replacement process, it is essential to reset the operating time counter of your newly replaced lamp. Failure to reset the counter may result in premature reports of the lamp being worn out or even prevent the projector from starting up altogether. You can refer to your projector manual for instructions on how to reset the lamp counter, or you can follow the steps we have compiled and outlined below. Please note that resetting the counter should only be done after replacing the lamp. Even if your current lamp still appears bright, if the projector indicates that the lamp's end of life is approaching, we strongly recommend ordering a new lamp to avoid potential damage to your projector as well as to avoid downtime. Once you receive the new lamp, install it and retain the old one as a spare. Exceeding the bulb's recommended lifespan significantly increases the risk of explosions, the demise of many color wheels and other optical components!
It's important to note that the procedures for resetting the lamp counter may differ, not only among projector manufacturers, but also depending on the specific model. Here are a few examples we have compiled:
