my projector is a sharp have xv-z200u nothing is noted about this model with an u. i found that this model is listed on other sites along with xv-z200. do you have the correct oem bulb. also the last sharp publications showed the bulb life of 4000 hours

The U is a location designation and does not affect the bulb type. While we have forwarded this to our webmaster to be updated, purchasing the XV-Z200 lamp will get you the correct product.
Additionally, you are correct, the lamp is rated for 4,000 hours of use.
