I am concerned as to whether or not the item is in fact a true osram bulb (not sylvania or other Chinese replacement). Prices on line seem to vary quite a lot

The bulb itself (within our inventory!) is marked on the tail end and it shows the following: Osram
P-VIP 240/0.8 E20.9n
It is a true original lamp as originally contracted by BenQ for your projector.
